Why Term 4 Is the Best Time to Book a School Incursion (And Why You Shouldn't Wait)
Term 4 for NSW schools runs from 13 October to 17 December 2026 - the shortest-feeling term of the year, packed with assessments, presentation days, and the general chaos of wrapping up a school year. It's also, somewhat counterintuitively, one of the best times to bring in a creative incursion.
Why Term 4 Works So Well for Incursions
By the time Term 4 rolls around, most of the heavy curriculum content for the year is done or close to it. Teachers are often looking for a way to reward students, fill a gap left by exams finishing early, or give a class something engaging and low-prep to look forward to before the holidays. A cartooning incursion fits neatly into all of these:
A reward or "wind-down" activity after major projects wrap up
A creative capstone to a unit of work - turning a topic students have studied all term into characters, comics, or illustrated stories
Cover for a co-curricular or enrichment day, without needing an excursion permission slip or a bus
What a Term 4 Incursion Looks Like
Our cartooning incursions are curriculum-aligned to the NSW Creative Arts K-6 Syllabus and run for students from Year K through to Year 12. Sessions can be tailored to whatever your class has been studying - history topics, a novel study, a science unit, or simply "just let the kids draw and have fun" as the term winds down. We bring everything needed; all you need is a classroom or hall space.
For schools further afield or without room for an in-person visit, we also run the same sessions live over Zoom - fully interactive, with no special equipment beyond paper, pencils, and a projector or laptop.
Book Early - Term 4 Fills Up Fast
Because so many schools have the same idea (end-of-term rewards, presentation day lead-ins, unit wrap-ups), Term 4 dates tend to book out faster than any other term. We recommend enquiring at least 4 weeks ahead to lock in your preferred date, especially if you're hoping for a date in the last few weeks of term.
